North Bay has a vibrant community of artists, musicians, actors and writers. There are numerous art galleries, theatre companies and a 1,000-seat Arts Centre conveniently located downtown.
The Discovery North Bay Museum has been a local voice of history and education in the community since 1973. The museum is housed in the historical location of the former Canadian Pacific Railway Station.
The Dionne Quints Museum is housed in the original home of the first identical quintuplets to survive childhood. The museum is filled with artifacts from their lives and the miracle story of their birth.
The North Bay Camera Club was started this year and is a group of talented photographers who take pictures of local events, sports and much more.
Canadore College also offers a very popular arts course called Artsperience. The program runs six weeks with classes such as: photography, watercolours, creative writing, clay sculptures and poetry.
The city also has a strong presence in performance arts. Theatre groups range from the Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre's children's productions and secondary school dance troupes, to theatre companies from Nipissing University and Canadore College. There is always a show to check out!
