Build ON / ON Batit Program
Helping you prepare for work in the skilled trades in Ontario, Canada.
The National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA's Build ON / ON Batit program is funded by the Government of Canada. The program offers specialized information and orientation to individuals relocating to Ontario and showing an interest in working in the Skilled Trades. The program supports individuals who have received confirmation of permanent residency from the Government of Canada, that are planning to settle anywhere in Ontario. English as a Second Language (ESL)
Develop and enhance your English language skills. This program focuses on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Canadore provides quality English language training in a caring and supportive environment using modern and social technologies. Students start at a level determined by a Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) administered in-house or an internationally recognized English language test. Check it out here.
At the Near North District School Board, adult students may register and begin classes at any time during the school year (September - June). This is a very flexible program offered to adults. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each student whether at the beginning, intermediate or advanced level. The personal approach to education, combined with a balance between academics, social skills, Canadian culture and Canadian language development, will prepare the learner for future academic studies, employment and living in Canada. English for Academic Purposes
Prepare for your post-secondary education and enhance your English language skills! This two-semester program focuses on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills required for college studies. Canadore provides quality English language training in a caring and supportive environment using modern and social technologies. Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
